About me

My personal journey and professional experience have solidified one key statement for me: the key to knowing Allah is to know oneself.

Our righteous predecessors have said this to us and like many of my fellow Muslim Muslims, I had heard this this statement before, but I never really understood it. I had never really lived it and experienced it.

But Allah SWT put me on a journey, both personally and professionally (as a Muslim American therapist and life coach), where I began to see how powerful and true that statement is.

To understand our ourselves- our nafs, qalb, aql and ruh- intimately means to be on a path where our entire relationship with Allah becomes intensely deeper and and personal. To understand our lived experience and know how it impacts us, is the key to knowing Allah and how we understand Allah.

It's not just my personal journey that has made me realize this statement with clarity. I'm also backing my conviction in this truth with my training in attachment theory models as a therapist: to truly know Allah, we must know ourselves.

You can read more about my focus here:

My focus:

What I have learned through my personal journey (through personal readings and pursuit of personal growth through therapy and coaching) and what I have learned through professional trainings in attachment theory and relationship therapy models, Islamic coursework on Allah, coursework on treating trauma within an Islamic lens, and my professional experiences (spanning more than a decade), have led me to a sharpened focus. My focus is on how our lived experience impacts our relationship with Allah and what we need to do to develop a deeper and more personal relationship with Allah.

This topic is vast which is why I have included the four larger themes that fall under this. You can read more here.

In all of my work, I share what I wish I had known and had access to when I started on this journey of inner work- this journey of understanding how my lived experience impacts my relationship with Allah. I bring a clinical mental health lens, a coaching approach, along with personal experience, to help you understand both your relationship with Allah and your struggles in your relationship with Allah.

This is the framework I use in my work:

My framework:

When I work with you, whether in 1.1 coaching, group coaching, the mini-courses and courses and even the read-along circle, I focus on fostering an environment where these values and goals are shared, fostered and provided:

  • acceptance
  • mindfulness and muraqaba
  • curiosity
  • compassion
  • awareness
  • targeted action

In my work, I incorporate Islamic principles, as well as understanding on a deeper, level your connection to Allah (while building upon these values).

I draw on from relationship models, attachment models and other research backed models while incorporating an Islamic lens to help you see and understand how your lived experience, (which includes your wellness), impacts your relationship with Allah.

And finally, here's a bit more on why

I started Wellness For Muslims, LLC:

Why Wellness for Muslims?

Wellness for Muslims, LLC was borne out of the desire to help as many Muslims possible who want clarity and growth as they embark on their own path for living a life of wellness while trying to get closer to Allah SWT.

The coaching, mini-courses, longer courses and programs and the read-along are all designed to help you, my fellow Muslim, get more insight, clarity, inner shifts and increased awareness as you work on building a life that is pleasing to Allah and also successful.

Everything I offer here at Wellness for Muslims, LLC includes my new focus: understanding how your lived experience impacts your relationship with Allah and then making the changes you need. The goal is to help you better understand how your lived experience and wellness interact and impact your relationship with Allah.

Here at Wellness for Muslims, LLC, I provide coaching services. Although I am a trained therapist, I do not offer therapy in any of my services with Wellness for Muslims, LLC. If I believe you would benefit with a therapist, I will help you get linked to one.

Wellness for Muslims, LLC is about providing avenues for inner work through education and coaching. That is why I started Wellness for Muslims, LLC.

Just a heads-up:

One more thing:

I know many coaches offer quick fixes to transform your life, but I am not that kind of coach. And my courses and programs don't promise instant transformations either.

I don't make false promises. I won't cure your deep wounds in one session. I won't rewire your brain in one session. I won't give you a magic formula for dua. I won't give you hacks for tawakkul. I don't promise quick fixes.

But I DO help you with learning lifelong skills that will improve your relationship with Allah and your life in MULTIPLE ways. I will connect you with additional resources to amplify your work in your journey. And with my trainings, I bring you frameworks that WORK.

My goal is simple: Help you deepen and strengthen your relationship with Allah while living a life of wellness as Allah's khalifah.

Because your relationship with Allah ALWAYS comes first. And from that, everything else flows.

Plus, the stronger your relationship with Allah, the more empowered you will be. And the more empowered we each are individually, the more powerful we are as an Ummah.
